Vrksasana

(Tree Pose)

(vrik-SHAHS-anna)
vrksa = tree

Vrksasana clarifies just how challenging it can be to stand on one leg.

Benefits
Strengthens thighs, calves, ankles, and spine. Stretches the groins and inner thighs, chest and shoulders. Improves sense of balance and relieves sciatica and reduces flat feet. The process of focusing the attention on each leg individually and bringing the body into balance necessary for tree Pose can help balance the first Chakra, Muladhara Chakra. Muladhara Chakra is located around the perenium and base of the spine. Muladhara Chakra is represented by the color red, and is associated with basic physical survival, security, and digestion.

Partnering
Balanced beings in prayer and concentration. A focused mind creates calm in the face of challenge.. In an ever-changing world, we need to find our center of balance and power. Balancing this energy together is the grounding force that allows two people to connect to the earth energies and empower their beings. Focusing one's attention can help bring energetic bodies "down to earth" and in alignment with their physical bodies and find themselves with energy abounding…
